Welcome to the American Section - Bienvenue à la Section Américaine
The American Section provides a bilingual education, English and French, to students ages 4-18 years. It is part of the vibrant Lycée International community, in which 14 international sections work side by side, creating a unique multicultural and multilingual environment. Our students practice global citizenship on a daily basis, passing from one language to another while demonstrating a cultural flexibility and an international outlook that is exceptional among international schools.
Admission to the American Section is selective. At each grade level, we seek to enroll students who have age-appropriate English language skills as well as the capacity to juggle our demanding dual curriculum that is predominantly French. For students who do not already speak the French language, it is possible to apply to our immersion program called Français Spéciale. This intensive course allows students ages 7-15 to acquire a sufficient level of French to then integrate into the bilingual classes the following year.
Concerning the application materials, please note that we will be moving to an online admissions system in December 2017. The required materials will largely remain the same, however, they will need to be scanned and uploaded to our website rather than be mailed to our office. Please be sure to check our website at the beginning of December for further details.
Our website contains a great deal of information regarding our program. We invite you to read carefully through the Admissions pages and to consult our FAQ before beginning the application process.
We look forward to hearing from you and thank you for considering the American Section for your child’s education.
