Welcome to the American Section of the Lycée International of Saint Germain en Laye.
The Lycée International is situated in the historic town of St Germain en Laye in the leafy western suburbs, approximately 12 miles (18 kms) from the centre of Paris.
The American Section is one of 13 national sections which comprise the Lycée International, a French state school with around 3000 students. Current enrolment in the American Section is approximately 700 students from Pre-K through 12th grade.
Nationality is not a criterion for admission into the American Section – we have students of approximately 39 different nationalities. All our faculty are American or Canadian.
We offer a bilingual education – a high quality American program in 6 to 8 hours per week, teaching 2 subjects: language/literature and history/geography in English, with our French colleagues from the Education Nationale (the state education department) teaching all other subjects in French.
We offer a rich extra-curricular program including theatre, MUN, community service, and a wide range of school trips.
At the end of 12th grade, students take the traditional French Baccalaureate with the International Option (OIB), an internationally recognized qualification.
