Margaret Jenkins, Assistant Director, American Section, Lycée International Saint-Germain-en-Laye

The American Section provides its students with a rigorous bilingual education infused with American pedagogy and culture. This academic program is enhanced with a wide range of co-curricular activities and social events, cutting-edge pedagogical practices, library and technological resources, and program enrichments such as guest speakers, visiting authors, or health and wellness courses — enhancements enabled by our development program.

The Section’s development program is robust, powered by a passionate and hard-working administrative team and supported by parents and alumni. Donations to our annual fund help fund strategic initiatives and financial aid, as well as those special programs and classroom enhancements not covered by tuition alone. The annual fundraising gala, which reunites the entire community, raises significant funds to support longer-term initiatives. Over half our families contribute to the Section’s fundraising efforts.

Parents and student give generously of their time, organizing a variety of popular “fun-raising” community events that range from student dances to bingo evenings, cocktail parties, picnics, and potluck suppers. Parents also provide essential classroom support for our art and library program, and participate in Section governance and special projects.

Whether gifts of time, talent, or resources, these contributions benefit each American Section student and further strengthen our exceptional educational offering.
